Your Value Is in Christ Alone
"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ."
Last week, I heard the conversation I was going to have with someone I love like a close family member. I did not just hear it — I understood every aspect of what would be a complex yet necessary conversation for healing.
Over the next couple of days, similar conversations came up — conversations about things God had called me to do, things I had once been active in but had not been doing as much lately. Then I was asked a question: "Why haven't you been as active?" Although simple, my reply was also truthful: The value in what God gave me is not there.
Over the last few days, my husband and I seemed to be talking a lot about misplaced value — including the danger of trying to showcase your value. It was also something we had prayed about, making sure it was not what we were doing. And it was interesting when I visited my best friend — the same topic came up again.
The Reminder I Needed
As I reflected on that past week, three scriptures kept returning to me:
"Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord."
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ."
And all of this brought me back to a message God once gave me to share at a women's conference I spoke at last October: "It's not about you." In other words, it is not about us. When we give God our "yes" and surrender our lives to the Father, to the Lordship of Jesus, and to the leading of the Holy Spirit, we are simply walking out the finished works of Christ.
The Gift and the Mantle
Because according to Jeremiah 1:5 — before I was formed in my mother's womb, God knew me, called me, and appointed me a prophet to the nations. I realized that if God already ordained my path, then my value could never depend on people's response to it.
What also seemed to be ringing louder and louder was this: it was not just about a conversation. It was about the gift and mantle God has given me — the ability to prophesy and to speak.
Just a few months before, I received a message from my Bishop that simply said, "The gift of prophecy is from God, use it." Within this timeframe, our Apostle spoke to me about the mantle God has placed on my life and gave a very strong encouragement to use it. And Father God Himself had been speaking — confirming, affirming, and reigniting the fire within me — while also freeing me from the bondage of fear. The Father's love is so rich and deep for us, and He will never leave or forsake us.
Your Worth Is in Christ Alone
Let me say this to you: if you know you have been called — if you know you have been chosen — then the appearance of man's lack of value toward what God placed in you does not determine your worth.
Your gift, your calling, your mantle, and your anointing are not contingent on another person. So do not allow fear to rob you and force you into a cocoon Father God never intended for you. Do not go searching for opportunities just to feel valued — your value was never meant to come from people, and your worth is in Christ Jesus. It has always been in Christ alone.
And listen — if you truly believe that God has a plan and purpose for your life, then you must also believe that He will finish what He started in you. As I remind myself, may I encourage you:
- God has already gone before you.
- Your purpose is already established.
- Your calling is already secured.
- Your outcome is not dependent on people.
He has already finished His good work in you. You are not trying to become who you were already born to be. You are not striving to prove yourself to God or to people. And you are not waiting to be validated to feel assured in what Father God placed in you and called you to. You are simply walking it out — by faith, day by day. And He is already there, at the end, waiting to say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Prayer
Father God, thank You for the gift, the calling, and the mantle You have placed on my life. Forgive me for the moments I allowed the opinion of others to silence what You placed in me. I choose today to walk in what You have already finished. I will not search for people to validate what You have already confirmed. My worth is in You — and You alone. Complete Your good work in me, Lord. I pray this in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
